The relief sought in the present writ petition pertains to the issuance of directions to the respondent to carry out necessary corrections in the petitioner's date of birth and father's name, as recorded in the matriculation certificate.

At the threshold, this Court queried learned counsel for the petitioner as to whether the petitioner had availed of the prescribed remedy by submitting an application through the proper channel, i.e., by filling out the requisite application form on the web portal maintained by the respondent. Learned counsel candidly admitted that no such application had been submitted.

Mr. S.S. Bedi, Advocate, who is in receipt of advance notice and appears on behalf of the respondent, submitted that in the event the petitioner submits an application on the respondent's web portal along with the requisite supporting documents seeking correction of his date of DEVINDER YADAV 2026.01.15 09:44 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP-36508-2025 birth and father's name in the matriculation certificate, the same shall be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the above, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction that, in the event the petitioner submits the requisite application through the respondent's web portal and uploads the necessary supporting documents in support of his claim within a period of one week from today, the respondent shall take a decision on the petitioner's request within a period of three weeks thereafter, in accordance with law. 5.

Disposed of accordingly.
