Relevant extract of the said letter dated 26.02.2026 reads as under:- "2. In this regard, it is submitted that the matter for appointment of private members to complete quorum of the Haryana State Waqf Tribunals at Ambala, Hisar, Rohtak, Gurugram, Karnal and Faridabad is under active consideration. The advertisement was issued on 21.05.2025 and in response thereto, applications from the interested persons have been received. A Committee has also been constituted vide order dated 12.01.2026 to scrutinize the applications for short listing the candidates to make its recommendations. The matter has been submitted to the Committee and thereafter, the approval of competent authority as per Rules of Business of State Government would be obtained, which may take more time due to ongoing Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha.
3. You are, therefore, requested to apprise the Hon'ble Court as above and to seek more time preferably 4 weeks for completing the process of appointment of members of Waqf Tribunals and for filing status in the aforesaid case which is now fixed for 27.02.2026."

While referring to the aforesaid letter dated 26.02.2026, learned State counsel, on instructions from Mr. Dinesh, A.D.A., O/o the Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Haryana, Home Department, submits that the process for appointment of Member to the Waqf Tribunal at Rohtak shall be completed within a period of four weeks from today. 5.
Keeping in view the aforesaid submissions made by learned State counsel, no further orders are required to be passed in the present writ petition and the same is, accordingly, disposed of. 6.
It is expected that in future, the process for filling up vacancies in the Waqf Tribunals shall be initiated at least three months prior to the
expiry of the term of the Members of the Waqf Tribunals, so as to ensure that the functioning of the Tribunals is not affected on account of such vacancies.

All the pending application(s), if any, shall also stand closed.
