   1   ! 2  3,,,  ) * .       45Learned counsel contends that the petitioner was working as Panchayat Secretary, and entire record which was his responsibility, had been handed over to his successor, Ashok Kumar, vide Amexure P-4, dated 18.05.2020. Even otherwise, there is a delay of 8 years in registration of the FIR while he retired from service on 30.11.2021. The Director, Panchayats has initiated proceedings for assessment of loss against the Sarpanch, but not against him. Co-accused, Lakhbir Singh Butter, BDPO and Manjinder Singh @ Bhiri, Sarpanch have since been granted bail, vide orders dated 01.10.2025 and 04.12.2025, Annexures P-7 and P-8, respectively. The petitioner is ready and willing to join the investigation as and when required by the investigating agency and will cooperate.

Notice of motion.

At the asking of the Court, Ms. Gagandeep Kaur, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State. Meanwhile, the petitioner is directed to join the investigation on or before 17.12.2025.
