***** ARCHANA PURI, J. (Oral) The petitioner has filed the present petition, for initiation of the contempt proceedings, on account of wilful and deliberate disobedience of the orders, passed by Punjab State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, whereby the petitioner was not produced, despite the orders passed by the consumer court.

Notice of motion.

At this stage, Ms. Jagriti Kalia, AAG Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of all the respondents. Also, learned State counsel, on instructions received from Mr. Harish Kumar, ASP and Mr. Ravinder Singh, Warden, District Jail, Rupnagar, apprises the court that Navjeet Singh, has been produced before the Consumer Court on 22.12.2025. This fact is also not disputed by the counsel for the petitioner.

COCP-6140-2025 However, counsel for the petitioner submits that Navjeet Singh, be asked to be produced by the jail authorities, on each and every date fixed before the consumer court, for the purpose of marking his presence. In view of the aforesaid, State counsel also gives an undertaking to produce Navjeet Singh, before the consumer court, in the pending case, as and when his presence is called for by the said court. In view of the undertaking given aforesaid, counsel for the petitioner submits that she does not want to pursue with the present contempt petition and the same be dismissed as withdrawn. Ordered accordingly.
