Mandeep Singh v. State Of Punjab
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH CRM-M-72257-2025 Decided on : 06.03.2026 Mandeep Singh . . . Petitioner(s)
Versus
State of Punjab . . . Respondent(s)
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SANJAY VASHISTH PRESENT: Mr. S.K. Bishnoi, Advocate, for the petitioner(s). Mr. Neeraj Madaan, Sr. DAG, Punjab.
**** SANJAY VASHISTH, J. (Oral) 1.
Instant second petition has been filed under Section 483 of BNSS, 2023, for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.018, dated 07.02.2024, under Sections 302 & 201 of IPC, 1860, registered at P.S. Sadar Budhlada, District Mansa, Punjab.
2.
While noticing the fact that the petitioner was found in the company of the deceased, Veerpal Kaur, as explained in the status report filed in the earlier bail petition, prayer for bail was withdrawn by the petitioner on 20.08.2025 (Annexure P-6). Thereafter, the present second bail petition has been filed. However, no fresh ground has been raised. Moreover, as per learned counsel for the petitioner himself, only two prosecution witnesses remain to be examined. Therefore, there is no reason to entertain the present second regular bail petition at this stage.
3.
Faced with the situation, learned counsel again seeks permission to withdraw the present second regular bail petition. 4.
Dismissed as withdrawn.
Pending misc. application(s), if any, also stand(s) disposed of. (SANJAY VASHISTH) JUDGE March 06, 2026 J.Ram Whether speaking/reasoned:
