Prayer in this writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondent to open the case of the petitioner for promotion to the post of District Manager kept in a saled cover in D.P.C. meeting held on 31.10.2018/05.12.2018 and consider his case for promotion to the post of District Manager w.e.f. 05.12.2018. Further prayer has been made to direct the respondents to grant all consequential benefits to the petitioner upon his promotion to the post of District Manager w.e.f. 05.12.2018 including arrears of revised salary along with interst @ 9% per annum.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be satisfied if the representation dated 22.08.2024 (Annexure P-7) of the MOHD YAKUB 2025.12.30 16:42 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh.

CWP-37614-2025 petitioner is decided by the respondent by passing a speaking order in a time bound manner.

Learned counsel for the respondent, appearing on advance notice, submits that he has no objection, in case a direction is issued to the respondent for time-bound consideration and decision of the representation dated 22.08.2024 (Annexure P-7) of the petitioner by passing a speaking order.

Therefore, in view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the respondent is directed to consider the representation dated 22.08.2024 (Annexure P-7) of the petitioner and pass a speaking order in the light of the judgment rendered by this Court in CWP-33628-2025, titled as Manpreet Singh vs Punjab State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited (PUNSUP) through its Manager Director, decided on 13.11.2025, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of 03 months from the date of receiving a certified copy of this order. Further, the decision taken thereof shall be conveyed to the petitioner. Needless to say, if the petitioner is found entitled to the relief sought, the same shall be granted forthwith by respondent.
