This petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India read with Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Act, 1962 and the Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Rules, 1963 for the issuance of directions upon respondents concerned to release the petitioner on parole for a period of six weeks i.e. from 19.12.2025 to 30.1.2026 on account of the demise of the mother of the petitioner on 12.12.2025.

Served with an advance copy of the petition, Mr. Luvinder Sofat, Sr. DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents-State. 4.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from the official concerned, submits that the petitioner has been granted parole for 20.12.2025 and 21.12.2025 by the Deputy Commissioner, Moga. 5.

In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks leave to withdraw the present petition.
