The instant petition has been filed by the petitioners for directions to the respondents No.2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty from the respondents No.4 and 5.

The learned counsel representing the petitioners submits that the petitioners have filed the representation dated 18.12.2025 (Annexure P-5) before the respondent No.2. The learned counsel prays for directions to the respondent No.2 to decide the abovementioned representation within a stipulated time.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that a direction for disposing of the representation of the petitioners (Annexure P-5) be given to the respondent No.1 and that the instant writ petition be disposed of accordingly.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts and circumstances, it is hereby directed that by passing a speaking order within a period of one month from the date of receipt of this order, the representation of petitioner (Annexure P-5) be disposed of either by the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana (respondent No.1) or, on assignment by him, by any other police officer not below the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police. It is however clarified that no finding is being returned, by this Court, with regard to merits of the contents of representation. The respondent No.1 shall be at liberty to make an independent assessment with regard to contents of representation of the petitioners and make an independent decision at his own level.
