The petitioners through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking direction to respondents to grant compensation on account of death of their family member due to electrocution.

As per petition, Pardeep Kumar aged 53 years passed away on account of electrocution. On 18.04.2025 at 5.00 pm, he was coming to his home. He was caught in a severe storm which uprooted electricity poles. One pole fell upon Pardeep Kumar and he died due to fatal injuries. The incident was duly recorded in GD No.17 dated 19.04.2025 at Police Station, PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2026.04.23 21:59 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP No. 38905-2025 (O&M) -2City Dhuri, District Sangrur. There is no dispute with respect to cause of death.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that respondents, as per policy of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (for short "PSPCL"), has not granted compensation.

Learned counsel for respondents submit that petitioners were paid Rs. 4,00,000/- as ex-gratia compensation, nevertheless, their claim as per policy of PSPCL would be considered and appropriate order would be passed within six weeks from today.

Learned counsel for the petitioners agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
