Present petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking issuance of direction to the official respondents, to protect their life and liberty from the hands of private respondents. 2.
Noticing a significant difference in the age of both the petitioners, this Court, vide order dated 08.01.2026, directed the State to verify the credentials of petitioner No. 2.

Today, learned State counsel has filed status report dated 15.01.2026 in the Court today and the same is taken on record. Registry is directed to tag the same at the appropriate place on the file. 4.
Paragraph Nos.7, 8 and 9 of the status report are reproduced here under:- "7.
That it is pertinent to mention that Balwinder Singh son of Tarlok Singh (respondent no 4), father of Petitioner no 1, recorded his statement wherein he stated that he is father of 3 daughters and 3 sons. That out of 3 daughters petitions no 1 is the youngest daughter and other two daughters are already married. He further stated that petitioner no 1 has solemnised the marriage with petitioner no 2 without the consent of respondent no 4 and his family. CRWP-13916-2025 -2wife and children will not interfere in the life of petitioners and as such they have no threat from them. (Copy of the statement of respondent no 4 is annexed as Annexure R-1/1). 8.
That further it is mentioned that both the petitioners were issued notice to record their statements and they were also informed through their mobile number and petitioner no 1 (Jaspreet Kaur alias Jashanpreet Kaur) recorded her statement and stated that they have no danger to their life and liberty and are living at village Thuha. (Copy of Statement of Jaspreet Kaur alias Jashanpreet Kaur is annexed as Annexure R-1/2). 9.
That it is further stated that the petitioner no 2 is resident of village Thuha, Tehsil & distt Patiala and as per the police report there is no criminal record of petitioner no 2. Further it has been verified from the sarpanch of village Thuha that petitioner no 2 has never married earlier and this is his first marriage and he is doing shoe business (Shop) in Sunam, District Patiala and he is residing along with his mother and one brother (married) at village Thuha, Tehsil & District Patiala and is also having agricultural land in the village. (Copy of statement of Sarpanch of village thuha is Annexed as Annexure R-1/3)."

In view of the fact that both the petitioners have already solemnized their marriage and the factum of marriage is within the knowledge of the family of petitioner No.1, and further considering that father of petitioner No.1 has given an undertaking that he and other family members shall not interfere in the life of the petitioners, this Court finds that there is no occasion to issue any specific direction against them. Moreover, statements of both the petitioners and the village Sarpanch have also been recorded.

In view of the stand taken in the status report filed by learned State counsel, this Court finds no necessity to issue any further direction, and accordingly, present petition is disposed of.
