Present petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the official respondent for protection of life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that the petitioner has apprehension to his life as well as to the life of his family and the petitioner has moved a representation dated 07.12.2025 (Annexure P-4) to Senior Superintendent of Police, District Barnala, but appropriate action has not been taken.

CRWP-14002-2025 (O&M) ( 2 ) and stay has already been granted by the competent Court. However, learned counsel for the petitioner is not satisfied and submitted that there is a genuine threat to the life of petitioner, who is an old aged person of 73 years. 5.

Keeping in view the contentions raised by learned counsel for the parties, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Barnala, to look into the averments made in the representation (Annexure P-4) and if threat to life of the petitioner is genuine, to take necessary action in accordance with law.
