This is an application for release of the amount. The learned Tribunal had awarded Rs.1,40,000/- and this amount along with interest has already been released in favour of the claimant-applicant. This Court has enhanced the amount by Rs.1,10,000/-.

The claimant is a lady. She is an uneducated maidservant. She has claimed compensation for the death of her minor daughter aged 6 years. Once she has already received an amount of Rs.1,40,000/- with interest, I fail to understand why the balance amount should be released in her favour without any cogent reason. Therefore, the deposited amount of Rs.1,76,194/- be kept in a fixed deposit for a period of 5(five) years which shall be released to her on expiry of the said period. However, the interest accruing on the fixed deposit shall be released in her favour every quarter to enable her to meet her day to day expenses. CM application is disposed of.
