This Court has held that in cases where the award is made by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, majority shall be at the age of 21. Therefore, liberty is reserved to the minor to apply for release of the amount on attaining the age of 21. The guardian of the minor can even approach this Court earlier for release of the amount in case the amount is needed for educational or medical treatment. It is stated that the fixed deposit has matured. The same has ordered to be renewed and it is further directed that the interest accruing on the fixed deposit shall be paid to the guardian of the minor by remitting it to the bank account details whereof along with photocopy of the first page of the passbook be submitted in the Registry of this Court within 2(two) weeks from today.
