Petitioner is aggrieved by the order dated 31.05.2024 passed by the Regional Grievance Redressal Officer, Paschim Medinipur Region, whereby directions were issued and liberty was granted to the petitioner to approach the ombudsman if he was dissatisfied with the said order. Instead of availing the said remedy before the ombudsman, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the instant writ petition. 3.

This Court is of the opinion that as there is a specific provision in the statute for ventilating his grievance, petitioner ought to have approached the ombudsman before invoking the writ jurisdiction of this Court.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the Ombudsman, if so advised.

In the event the petitioner approaches the Ombudsman within a period of three weeks from the date of the server copy of this order, the Ombudsman shall consider his appeal on merits without rejecting the same on the ground of limitation. 6.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Let urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on usual undertaking. (Gaurang Kanth, J.)
