It has been submitted by the learned advocate representing both the parties that the amount deposited by the petitioners before the Bank has since been refunded.

The petitioners submit that the Bank held the money unauthorizedly from September 2024 till 15th February, 2025 and the petitioners ought to be paid interest for the same.

Learned advocate representing the Bank opposes the said submission and submits that according to the auction notice, the money was liable to be forfeited.

Without entering into the dispute as to whether the petitioners will be entitled to any interest or not, as it appears that the money deposited by the petitioners has been refunded, the Court is not deciding the said issue.

It will be open for the Bank to deal with the property in accordance with law.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
