Mr. Banerjee, learned advocate for the petitioner, submits that one last opportunity be given his client, the father of Sangita Aich, to visit Bangladesh and ascertain, as to whether she is willingly married there. Admittedly, the girl is a major.

There is a message from the authorities in Bangladesh that the girl has gotten married to some boy there itself. This Court is unable to rule out the possibility of elopement and marriage against the wishes of the father in the instant case.

This Court has made substantial efforts through the authorities in India, to recover the girl. The authorities

in Bangladesh have also sufficiently cooperated, as stated by the counsel for the State.

This Court is of the view that the police have taken all necessary steps in this regard. There is nothing further to be dealt with, or adjudicated in the matter. Hence, the contempt application shall stand disposed of.

Disposal of the current proceedings shall not restrict or prevent the right of the petitioner to visit his daughter in Bangladesh to ascertain her wellbeing. Rule, if any, shall stand discharged.

Interim orders, if any, shall stand vacated.

There will be no order as to costs.
