The accused persons in connection with Panchla Police Station Case No.382 of 2010 dated 10th November, 2010 under Sections 498A/406/506 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act corresponding to G.R. Case No.5155 of 2010 pending before the learned Municipal Magistrate, Howrah approached this Court for quashing of the above-mentioned criminal proceeding.

After institution of the revision, both the parties have filed a joint petition for compromise stating, inter alia, that the dispute between the parties has been amicably settled and they did not want to proceed with the instant matter.

Police report was called for and it is found from the police report that the de-facto complainant also wants to settle the dispute voluntarily and freely.

In view of such circumstances, the criminal proceeding being G.R. Case No.5155 of 2010 be quashed on the basis of settlement between the parties.

The learned Municipal Magistrate, Howrah is directed to pass necessary order of acquittal in accordance with law in respect of the accused persons.

Police report be kept with the record.
