By filing this writ petition, the petitioner challenges the Scheduled Caste certificate, Madhyamik marksheet, Higher Secondary marksheet and documents of respondent no.16.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner, however, confines his challenge to the Scheduled Caste certificate of respondent no.16. It is the case of the petitioner that the Scheduled Caste certificate of respondent no.16 is not genuine. He draws attention to the discrepancies in the name of respondent no.16

in the Scheduled Caste certificates appearing at pages 35 and 36 of the writ petition. He submits that the two certificates bear the same number but contains two different names, 'Manmatha Rn Biswas' and 'Manmatha Biswas'.

It appears that the Sub-Divisional Officer, Barasat, the issuing authority of the Scheduled Caste certificate of respondent no.16, clearly clarified that the certificate is a genuine one.

The university suggests that the respondent no.16 was not appointed on the strength of his Scheduled Caste certificate, rather he was appointed as a General Category candidate.

The petitioner has failed to demonstrate his prejudice before this Court due to the appointment of the petitioner to the relevant post.

In view of the aforesaid facts, I am not inclined to entertain this writ petition.

Accordingly, WPA 87 of 2024 along with CAN 1 of 2024 is dismissed.
