1. Affidavit of service and the supplementary affidavit filed in Court today are taken on record.

2. The petitioners are aggrieved by the delayed action taken by the Investor Education Protection Fund authority in transferring the share certificates and the dividends in respect of the shares which stood recorded in the name of the predecessor-in-interest of the petitioners.

3. It has been submitted that the claim of the petitioners has been verified by the authority and in two cases the respondent authority has already released the share certificates and the dividend.

4. A chart prepared by the petitioners annexed at page-336, annexure-P12 of the writ petition discloses the names of the companies, folio numbers of the certificates and the number of shares in respect of which the claim has been lodged by the petitioners.

5. In respect of serial nos. 1 & 2 of the said chart, the grievance of the petitioners has been redressed but rest

of the claim is pending. Prayer has been made to direct the authority to transfer the share certificates and dividend to the petitioners.

6. The instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the competent authority to verify and process the claim of the petitioners in respect of serial nos. 3 to 16 of the chart annexed at page 336 of the writ petition.

7. If the claim of the petitioners is found to be proper, then necessary consequential steps shall be taken to transfer the share certificates and dividend in favour of the petitioners at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

8. The writ petition stands disposed of.

9. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
