The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been illegally implicated in the above criminal proceeding and he is in custody for 790 days.

Heard Ms. Khan, learned advocate appears on behalf of the State.

Upon considering the materials and the case diary, the gravity of the offence and the extent of involvement of the petitioner in the alleged offence, we are not inclined to grant bail in favour of the petitioner at this stage. However, the learned trial court is directed to complete the trial expeditiously keeping in mind the provisions of Section 35(2) of the POCSO Act. Accordingly, CRM 55 of 2021 is rejected.
