Petitioner has prayed for expeditious disposal of G.R. Case No.1264 of 2017. A copy of the revisional application may be served upon Mr. Anwar Hossain and Ms. Ratna Ghosh, learned advocates appearing for the State. Their appointments may be regularised by the concerned authorities.

Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the case was initiated in the year 2017. Petitioner appeared before the court and thereafter he was released on bail. A prayer for discharge was advanced, and the same was refused on or about April, 2022. Thereafter till date, charge has not been framed by the learned trial court. Learned advocate further submits that the next date has been fixed on 5th July, 2023.

Learned trial court being the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, 4th Court, Calcutta is directed to frame the charges on 5th July, 2023 or within a week thereafter and thereafter fix at least

one date in every 60 days so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournment should be granted to either of the parties and the State should ensure production of the materials exhibits and/or other relevant documents on the dates so fixed for recording of evidence of the witnesses' concerned.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR 18 of 2023 is disposed of.

Pending application, if any, is consequently disposed of. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
