The present writ application has been preferred praying for necessary directions upon the respondent authorities to dispose of the Certificate Case No. 11 of 2022 (arising out of Gratuity Case No. 14/G/2018), now pending before the Certificate Officer, Chandernagore, Hooghly.

The State has placed a report wherein it appears from the materials on record that on 30.08.2024 specific directions was passed by the Certificate Officer directing payment of gratuity. It further appears from the report that without approaching the Certificate Officer the petitioner has sought to invoke the writ jurisdiction of this Court.

Considering all these facts the writ application is disposed of with the direction that the Certificate Officer shall take all necessary steps to conclude the recovery proceedings in accordance with law within a period of 30 days from the date of this order.

Parties are at liberty to communicate the server copy of this order to the Certificate Officer. Let a copy of this order be sent to the Certificate Officer, Chandernagore, Hooghly, District Magistrate, Hooghly and the Labour Commissioner, West Bengal.
