Report of the learned Public Prosecutor prepared by Inspector-in-Charge, Hemtabad Police Station, Raiganj Police District reflects that the appellant viz. Prasanta Roy @ Prasanta Roy Barman has served out the sentence in connection with Hemtabad Police Station Case No. 204 of 2016 dated 14.08.2016 and has been released on 29.05.2024 after expiry of sentence from Balurghat Central Correctional Home. The said report also reflects that the appellant is staying at Titihi.

Mr. Choudhury, learned advocate appears on behalf of the appellant.

Mr. Bhattacherjee was directed to represent the victim as an advocate of the High Court Legal Aid Services Authority.

Both the learned advocates are present.

In view of the report so submitted, I am of the opinion that as the appellant has served out the sentence so imposed by the learned trial court, further hearing on merits of the appeal is unwarranted.

Accordingly, CRA 1 of 2021 is disposed of.

Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.

Lower court records be sent down to the learned court below immediately.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
