The Block Development Officer & Executive Officer of the Barasat-II Panchayat Samity is present online. It has been submitted that the provisional pension which the petitioner was receiving till 2021 has been discontinued as the concurrence which was supposed to be obtained from the finance department was not obtained.

The petitioner retired from service in the year 2006. In view of pendency of a criminal proceeding against him, his personal dues cannot be finalized. The Block Development Officer is directed to ensure that the provisional pension is paid to the petitioner. All arrears from the year 2021 till 2024 shall be disbursed at the earliest.

As regards the conclusion of the criminal proceeding, it will be open for the petitioner to approach the appropriate Court for relief.

The Block Development Officer shall ensure that the arrear as well as the current payment is released at the earliest but positively by June 30, 2024. The writ petition stands disposed of.
