The petitioners have approached this Court for expeditious disposal of GR Case No. 1577/2018 pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 3rd Court at Chandernagore. It is submitted by the learned Advocate for the petitioners that in connection with Singur Police Station Case No. 473/2018 dated 8th December, 2018 under Sections 341/325/504/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code charge-sheet was filed on 20th February, 2019. Charge was framed on 17th September, 2019. Thereafter, trial was fixed. Till date out of seven charge-sheeted witnesses only two witnesses have been examined. The petitioners being the accused persons have prayed for expeditious disposal of the above-mentioned case.

I have heard the learned Advocate for the petitioner. In my view the instant revision can be disposed of with the assistance of the learned Public Prosecutor-in-Charge here and now. Therefore, Ms. Debjani Sahu, learned Advocate is directed to assist this Court as Public Prosecutor-in-Charge. The appointment of Ms. Sahu be regularized by the learned Legal Remembrancer, Government of West Bengal. It is surprising to note that during the span of almost four years the Trial Court failed to examine seven witnesses. Under such circumstances, the learned Judicial Magistrate, 3rd Court at Chandernagore is directed to examine remaining five witnesses within five months from the date of this order and thereafter pass a reasoned order in the above-mentioned case within one month from the date of closer of recording evidence on behalf of the prosecution. The instant revision is, thus, disposed of.
