Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 29th April, 2025 and there has been hardly any progress in the case. On the other hand, learned advocate for the State submits that similarly placed accused person applied before this Court in CRM (M) 132 of 2026 when the prayer for bail was rejected.

Learned advocate for the State undertakes that prosecution will examine only 25 witnesses, although 71 witnesses have been cited in the charge sheet. It has also been submitted that the evidence of the 17 witnesses have been completed.

Considering the pace at which the trial is in progress and the gravity of the law and order situation at the relevant period of time, I am not inclined to release the petitioners on bail at this stage.

Prosecution would put in efforts to conclude all its witnesses by 15th July, 2026.

Accordingly, CRM (M) 71 of 2026 is dismissed at this stage with the aforesaid direction.

Liberty is granted to the learned advocate for the State to communicate this order to the concerned authorities. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
