Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that despite the petitioner having applied for electricity connection, the CESC Limited has not given the same.

Learned counsel appearing for the CESC Limited submits that certain further documents are required to be produced by the petitioner. The petitioner has only produced a photocopy of the rent bill to indicate his possession. Apart from that, the security deposit has to be made as well. Since the petitioner expresses the intention to comply with all requisite formalities, WPA No. 166 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the CESC Limited to give new electricity connection to the petitioner within a fortnight from

date and/or from compliance of all formalities by the petitioner, whichever is later.

In the event the CESC Limited is of the opinion that something further has to be deposited by the petitioner, the CESC Limited shall indicate such documents/security amount to the petitioner at the earliest, positively within January 13, 2023.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
