Status report filed by the State, be kept with the record. 2.
Petitioner says that he is in custody for a considerable period of time. He is not in any way connected with the instant case. There is no immediate chance of commencement of trial. No purpose will be served by detaining him behind the bar for sake of custodial interrogation.

Learned Advocate for the State raises objection by submitting that there are sufficient incriminating materials in the case diary which show about prima facie involvement of this petitioner with the alleged offence. The offence involved in this case is serious in
nature. The delay in trial is solely attributable to the defence as they took several adjournments.

Perused the materials on record. We have gone through the statement of the victim girl recorded under Section 164 Cr.P.C. (183 B.N.S.S.2023). Offence involved is serious in nature. We also see that the defence is substantially responsible for the delay in progress of the trial. Keeping in mind the complicity of the petitioner with the alleged offence, we are not inclined to enlarge him on bail.

The prayer for bail is rejected.

CRM (DB) 103 of 2025 is dismissed.
