...for the State The learned Government Pleader has produced before us an order dated 6th September, 2021 duly signed by the Principal Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, wherefrom it appears that the said authority was of the opinion that Smt. Sumana Sardar (Mondal) might be granted appointment on compassionate ground against Group-D vacancy under the Excise Directorate, Government of West Bengal and the Excise Commissioner, West Bengal was also directed to take necessary action accordingly and in accordance with prevalent guidelines. In view of the aforesaid order, we direct the Excise Directorate, Government of West Bengal, to take expeditious steps to implement the order passed by the Principal Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, preferably within a period of eight weeks from date.

We record our appreciation for the efforts made by the

learned Government Pleader in securing the appointment of the writ petitioner and it is also recorded that the respondent authorities have acted as model employer.

The order passed by the Principal Secretary, Government of West Bengal on 6th September, 2021 is taken on record. With the aforesaid direction, WP.ST 1 of 2021 is accordingly disposed of.
