Petitioner submits that she is 81 years old and is being harassed by the relations. To that effect, information was furnished on 09.12.2024. Yet the Police authorities did not act on such representation. Report submitted by the state reflects that Patuli PS Case No. 469 dated 12.12.2024 has been registered for investigation on the basis of the aforesaid complaint dated 09.12.2024. Report also reflects that the private respondent no. 5 abused the petitioner and her niece. Consequent to which her niece lodged a complaint and another case was earlier registered being Patuli PS Case No. 461 dated 05.12.2024 against the respondent no. 5.

Petitioner submits that presently the condition is such that she is unable to stay at her

parental house because of the physical and mental torture being inflicted by the respondent no. 5. In view of the aforesaid if the petitioner informs the local police station the Officer-inCharge/Inspector-in-Charge of the said police station would take steps for providing assistance of a police personnel who would escort the petitioner to her parental house. A lady police personnel be deputed so that every alternate day the said personnel would assess as to whether during her stay at her parental home she is subjected to any physical or mental torture. A report be submitted by the said police personnel regularly with the Officer-in-Charge of the police station who would exercise its discretion if any cognizable offence is made out.

Such arrangement would continue for a period of 4 weeks.

If any cognizable or non-cognizable offence is made out in course of the said 4 weeks, police authorities would take appropriate steps.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 312 of 2025 is disposed of.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.

A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner.
