The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the failure of the respondent authorities in installing a fresh electric connection at the premises of the petitioner. Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondent Corporation submits that the personnel of the respondent Corporation had gone to the premises of the petitioner to provide him an electric connection but they were resisted by the private respondents.

None appears on behalf of the private respondents despite service.

In view of the fact that this is an essential service which the petitioner seeks and subject to complying with all statutory formalities the respondent no. 1 is directed to provide a new electricity connection at the premises of the petitioner.

In carrying out the aforesaid exercise the respondent no. 3 being the Inspector-in-Charge, Mohanpur Police Station is directed to give all necessary police assistance to the representatives of the CESC Limited.

With the aforesaid directions WPA No. 205 of 2021 is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. It is made clear that the petitioner will comply with all statutory formalities as mandated by law. (Ravi Krishan Kapur,J)
