W.P.A. 208 of 2021 (Sk. Anisur Rahaman vs. CESC Ltd. & Anr.) Mr. Indranil Halder ....For the Petitioner Mr. Debanjan Mukherjee .... For the CESC The petitioner prays for a fresh electric connection.

It is submitted on behalf of the CESC that the petitioner is already enjoying electricity through a meter which is in the name of his father. It is further submitted on behalf of the CESC that the petitioner's application for a fresh electric connection has been rejected on the ground of splitting of load. Heard the parties I am of the view that the grievances of the petitioner ought to be adjudicated by the OMBUDSMAN in terms of Clause 14 of the Regulation No. 53.

In view of the aforesaid W.P.A. 208 of 2021 is disposed of by directing the OMBUDSMAN to consider and dispose of the application of the petitioner within a period of six weeks from date after giving a right of hearing to all the affected parties. The petitioner is

granted liberty to approach the OMBUDSMAN within a period of two weeks from date.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
