The petitioner was working as Civic Volunteer under the Karimpur Police Station, Nadia District. He was implicated in a criminal case in January, 2015 under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code in which he was subsequently acquitted in the year 2019.

Pursuant to the implication, he was not allowed to join service.

After his acquittal, the petitioner had represented before the Authorities that he is liable to be reinstated and allowed to join his duties.

The application has been made to the Superintendent of Police, Nadia.

Counsel for the State submits that the petitioner ought to have made an application to the Officer-in-Charge of the concerned Police Station where he was engaged.

Be that as it may, it is submitted that the application for the petitioner is being considered and shall be disposed of expeditiously.

In view of the above, it is directed that the petitioner's application may be disposed of by the appropriate authority within a period of one month from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition is disposed of.

No order as to costs.
