Petitioner prays for bail on the ground that the petitioner Bpg.

Dismissed is in custody for 4 years 6 months.

Learned advocate for the State submits that 21 witnesses have already been examined and the prosecution intends to examine 3 more witnesses in support of its case. Learned advocate for the de facto complainant is present and opposes the prayer for bail.

Having considered the advanced stage of the case, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. Learned trial court would ensure that within a reasonable period of time the evidence of

the prosecution witnesses are concluded. Learned trial court would give priority to the present case as the petitioner is in custody for 4 years 6 months. Needless to state that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the learned trial court will independently arrive at its conclusion.

Accordingly, CRM(M)95 of 2026 is dismissed.
