1. Petitioner is in custody for 967 days. He contends there is delay in trial. He prays for bail.

2. Learned lawyer for the State opposes the bail prayer. He submits trial is at its fag end.

3. We have considered the material on record. There are ample evidence implicating the petitioner in the murder. Offence if proved would attract mandatory life imprisonment. Trial is at its fag end. Only investigating officer is to be examined.

4. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly prayer for bail is rejected.

6. Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date.
