Khan, Mr. Ashok Das ... ... for the State Petitioner is in custody for over 200 days. He submits that he had suffered injuries. He prays for bail. Learned advocate appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

Statements of witnesses show petitioner trespassed into the house of the victim and assaulted her with a knife. Injuries on the petitioner were in all likelihood due to mob violence after the incident.

Under such circumstances and in view of the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Prayer for bail is rejected.
