Having suffered order of dismissal in connection with disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner, a statutory appeal was preferred by the petitioner on 3rd October, 2024 before the Appellate Authority, Eastern Coalfields Limited (for short, 'ECL') questioning the order of the disciplinary authority. Subsequently, a supplementary appeal was also filed on 14th November, 2024.

It is submitted by the learned advocates representing the petitioner and ECL that appeal is yet to be decided.

Prayer is made on behalf of the petitioner for expeditious disposal of the pending appeal.

Having considered the submissions made on behalf of the parties, writ petition stands disposed of

directing the Appellate Authority to decide the appeal of the petitioner by eight (8) weeks from the date of communication of this order. Decision to be taken by the Appellate Authority shall be communicated to the petitioner by fortnight thereafter.

Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon usual undertakings.
