Mr. S. S. Saha .....For the Petitioner The present revisional application has been preferred praying for expeditious disposal of AC Case No.602 of 2018 under Section 138 of the N.I. Act pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 7th Court, Alipore, 24 Parganas, South.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that more than four years have been passed in the meantime, but, till date the examination of the accused under Section 251 of the Code of Criminal Procedure is to be completed.

Having regard to the period of time which has passed and the stage of the case, I direct the learned Judicial Magistrate, 7th Court to fix at least one date in a month for the purpose of the present criminal case so that the trial can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournments should be granted to any of the parties and the trial of the case would continue in spite of any resolution of the local bar.

With the aforesaid observations, C.R.R. 48 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of. All parties are directed to act on the server copy of this order downloaded from the official website of this Hon'ble Court.
