None represents the Gram Panchayat or the private respondent.

The petitioner is an elected member of Jajan Gram Panchayat. A petition under Section 213A of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 was filed before the Block Development Officer being the prescribed authority for taking steps against the private respondent for casting vote contrary to the manner of voting as indicated by the leader of the political party. The said petition is pending consideration from 17th November, 2023.

Without entering the merit of the petition filed by the petitioner, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Block Development Officer, Bharatpur-I

Development Block to consider and dispose of the said petition in accordance with law at the earliest, but positively within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order. A decision shall be taken and communicated to the parties immediately thereafter.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the petition under Section 213A of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
