1. This contempt application has been filed alleging willful disobedience of the order and direction issued by this court in WPA(P) 24 of 2023 dated 1.8.2023.

2. On the petitioners own showing it is seen that already the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Durgapur has initiated action and orders were passed on 14.6.24 and 4.7.2024. In the said order the BL&LRO Additional, Durgapur-Faridpur Block was directed to serve the notice and to demarcate the portion of the land as per his report coming under Khatian No.1.

3. Apart from that, the order shows that action has been initiated under the West Bengal Public Land (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1962.

4. Therefore, we find no willful disobedience of the direction but, however, we direct the authorities to proceed earnestly with the matter and take the matter to a logical end after following the appropriate procedure under the said enactment.

5. Accordingly, the contempt application stands dismissed.
