APP Mr. Aniket Mitra ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for seven months and there is hardly any progress in the case.

It is also contended that the petitioner is innocent of the charges and unnecessarily languishing in jail for a considerable period of time.

Learned advocate for the State produces the case diary and draws the attention of the court to the statement of the sister of the defacto-complainant who was there at the relevant point of time. Learned advocate also added that there was recovery of the offending weapon at the behest of the present petitioner.

Be that as it may, each of these materials are subject to proof at the time of trial.

Having considered the materials which have been collected against the present petitioner, I am not inclined to enlarge the present petitioner on bail.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

Accordingly, CRM(M) 106 of 2026 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
