Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since July 5, 2021 and that the co-accused was granted anticipatory bail. Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the petitioner falsely represented himself as the Standing Council of the Government of West Bengal and Special Council for the Central Bureau of Investigation. By such representations, the petitioner was illegally dealing with the member of the public.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein and considering the fact that the petitioner was holding himself out of Standing Council of the Government of West Bengal and Special Council of the Central Bureau of Investigation and was dealing with the members of the public, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Prayer for bail is rejected.

CRM(DB) 71 of 2022 is dismissed.
