For the alleged contemnor The contempt application was filed alleging violation of an order dated 15th December, 2006 passed in WP 17930 (W) of 2006. It appears that a Rule was issued on 6th January, 2009 against Asit Chakraborty, the then Chairman of Hooghly-Chinsurah Municipality.

The matter appeared in the list on 28th June, 2021 and was called twice but no one appeared on behalf of any of the parties. Today the matter has been placed in the list marked as "last chance" with a note that appropriate orders will be passed if no one appears when the matter is taken up.

None appears for the applicant/petitioner. No one on behalf of the applicant/ petitioner has applied for appearing in the virtual mode. It appears that the applicant/petitioner is not interested in proceeding with the matter.

Advocate appearing on behalf of HooghlyChinsurah Municipality submits that he has no instructions in the matter.

In the facts and circumstances as aforesaid, the contempt application is disposed of without any further order.
