Chaturvedi, learned Senior Advocate appearing for the petitioner and submits that the validity period of the excavation permit expired on December 28, 2025.

The petitioner has submitted a representation on December 21, 2025 praying for issuance of excavation permit for a period of one year. Mr. Chaturvedi submits that in spite of receipt of such representation, no decision has been communicated to the petitioner till date.

State is represented by Mr. Mahata, learned AGP.

Without entering into the merit of the claim made in the representation dated December 21, 2025, this writ petition stands disposed of by directing the Additional District Magistrate and District Land and Land Reform Officer, Purba Bardhaman, the 4th respondent herein, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated December 21, 2025 and to dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner or his authorized representative and communicate the reasoned order to the petitioner immediately thereafter. The entire exercise shall be completed by the said respondent as expeditiously as possible but positively within a period of 14 working days from the date of receipt of a server copy of this order along with a copy of the representation dated December 21, 2025.

In addition, the District Magistrate, Purba Bardhaman, being the 3rd respondent herein, is directed to forward the representation dated December 21, 2025 to the respondent no. 4.
