Siddiqui, Mr. Yash Singhi ...for the State (in WPA 450 of 2023) The petitioners complain of alleged inaction by the Manicktala Police Station in respect of a fire accident in an illegal paint factory being run by the private respondent no.9.

The Manicktala Police Station is represented. It is submitted that FIR being Manicktala Police Station Case No. 267 dated 12.11.2022 under Sections 285/427/120B of the IPC has been registered against the respondent no.9. Several

persons have been examined. The respondent no. 9 is on bail.

Counsel for the private respondent no.9 submits that he had all certificates to run the factory. It is also submitted that the factory of the respondent no.9 has been shut down by the West Bengal Pollution Control Board.

The 9th respondent also claims to have appropriately compensated the petitioners.

It is ordered that investigation into the subject FIR shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of one month from date. There is no inaction on the part of the Manicktala Police Station.

With the aforesaid observations, both the instant writ petitions shall stand disposed of. The report of the Manicktala Police Station dated 10.01.2023 is kept with the record.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
