Substantial time has been allowed to both parties to agree to permanent alimony.

2.

Parties are living separately for more than 12 years. This itself amounts to to cruelty on both sides.

Admittedly, the respondent/husband is an employee of Post and Telegraph.

This Court is of the view that permanent alimony of Rs. 10 lakhs may be paid by the respondent/husband to the appellant/wife, within a period of 4 weeks from date.

The respondent/husband shall in addition thereto bear the expenses of the daughter's education as well as marriage.

The decree for divorce dated 31st January, 2018 granted by the Trial Court is, hereby, confirmed. The decree shall take effect upon the respondent/husband paying the aforesaid sum of Rs. 10 lakhs to the appellant/wife.

The advocate-on-record for the appellant shall communicate the bank particulars of his client to the advocate-on-record for the respondent/husband within a period of 3 days from date.

7.

With the aforesaid observations, F.A. 192 of 2019 shall stand disposed of.

8.

Consequently, all connected pending applications shall also stand disposed of.

9.

There shall be no order as to costs.

10.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
