No. 29 KAUSHIK REJECTED C.R.M.(A) 87 of 2023 In Re:- An application for anticipatory bail under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with NEW Market Police Station FIR No. 32 of 2022 dated 24.02.2022 under Sections 120B/467/468/469/471/420 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

And In Re : Shakil Ahmed ...... petitioner Mr. Ranjan Kumar Roy Mr. Ranajit Roy ....for the petitioner Mr. Arijit Ganguly Mr. Avik Ghatak ....for the State Petitioner prays for anticipatory bail.

Apparently, the petitioner is involved in forging the signature of the Chief Executive Officer of the 'Wakf Board' and causing the Kolkata Municipal Corporation Authorities to mutate an immovable property. The other 'mutawally' was arrested.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected and the application being CRM (A) 87 of 2023 is dismissed.
