On the writ petition of Rakhi Singh, daughter-in-law, being WPA 571 of 2021, this Court had directed the Kasba Police Station to submit a report before this Court.

It appears from the report that the motherin-law does not reside in the said premises since

2014. The father-in-law also does not appear to reside there. There are two shop rooms acquired by the father-in-law and husband of the petitioner, Rakhi Singh respectively. The rest of the house is rather dilapidated.

In that view of the matter, this Court does not see any ground for further consideration. With the aforesaid observations, both the writ petitions are disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

The aforesaid order shall not prevent the senior citizens from taking steps under the provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

The report dated 03.10.2021 filed by the Officer-in-Charge, Kasba Police Station is taken on record.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
