The only prayer of the petitioner is that an application for grant of Stage Carriage Permit made on 4th December, 2017 should be considered by the Regional Transport Authority without any further delay.

The RTA is represented.

Upon perusing the application, it seems that the application was made on 4th December, 2017 and the RTA has not taken any step to process the same. More than four years have passed since making of the application and hence the RTA should bear the consequences of the unexplained delay in taking the requisite steps.

WPA 461 of 2022 is allowed with a direction on the respondent no.2 to decide and dispose of the

application within four weeks from today and also pay costs assessed at Rs. 10,000/- to Helpage India for failing to process the application for the last four years.

WPA 461 of 2022 is disposed of accordingly.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertakings.
