Petitioner alleges that the private respondents have been threatening by stating that they would burn the brother of the petitioner by pouring kerosene oil and by way of confining in a room. To that extent, information was furnished to the Superintendent of Police, Hooghly.

Report has been submitted by the Superintendent of Police which reflects that enquiry was conducted. However, since it is a non-cognizable offence, police authorities have drawn up proceedings only under Sections 107/116 (3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Having considered that the police authorities are already in seisin of the dispute between the

petitioner and the private respondents, I direct that the concerned police station would continue to keep a strict vigil and ensure that no breach of peace or tranquility takes place and/or any untoward incident results because of the inimical relationship existing between the petitioner and the private respondents. With the aforesaid observations, WPA 483 of 2024 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report submitted by the State be kept with the record.

A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
